Some days when I wake I know it would be better to not get up at all and go back to sleep until the pain stops. If only nature would not make it necessary to get up! Today was one of those days. I have tried all manner of ways to get to the other side of the pain. Meditation, Breathing exercises, stretching, pills, pot, alcohol, salves, tonics, liniments, massage, lidocain patches, you name it I have pretty much tried it. But when the pain gets to this particular place nothing seems to work.
I finally found though, that if I could laugh, find something really funny, and just laugh, then move on and laugh at another something, I find my pain starting to recede to the corners. Keep laughing, read more fun stuff, maybe I put on an outrageous outfit which totally is wrong for the day, and laugh some more, now I am feeling sooo much better.
Then to go outside on my deck and look and listen. Oh my gosh, the birds are amazing! They have returned for another season of making babies in my yard. So exciting when the new ones come and eat at the feeders. So small and gorgeous with their baby feathers. Now where did that pain go? Ahhh, thank you Goddess as it has left because all the nice things pushed it away. There was no more room for it. Grateful for all those beautiful and funny things around me. I am so fortunate indeed!
